History of the Sacred Maize

Re-connect with the rich history and cultural traditions of Maize in this online event!

The History of the Sacred Maize

Within the Anawak cosmovision, the Maize is more than a food, but a Spirit who offered its blood to create human life through the creation story of the 5th sun. The Maize (corn) is a food source known and used throughout the world, having become one of the most produced and sought after crops. However, many have forgotten the cultural importance of the Maize and it’s uses, both culinary and spiritual, as taught in the rich stories and traditions left behind by our ancestors.
