I am a folk herbalist, community builder, and Earth daughter. I am first generation born in Los Angeles, with indigenous roots through my patrilineality of the Nahuat Pipil of El Salvador.
My practice is rooted in the earth-based healing traditions of Curanderismo. I stumbled upon the medicine path in early 2017 at a time in my life when I was searching for ways to heal my body both physically and emotionally. This was a pivotal point in my life when I decided to begin the journey of unpacking life long childhood trauma. As I was searching for different ways to support myself, I remembered the ways my great-grandmother would speak on the healing powers of herbs and how they could heal us from sickness, and emotional turbulence. So I decided to turn to plants to find the healing I was looking for. I self studied herbalism for the first 2 years of my healing journey — reading an array of texts from Western, Chinese, and Mayan traditional herbal medicine. As the mysteries of the plants began to work in my life, I magikally found myself being accepted into a year long herbal apprenticeship through the Gaia School of Healing. This apprenticeship awakened the wisdom of my Mayan Pipil ancestors, and led me to continue my learning for the next 2 years throughout Mexico and my home country of El Salvador with traditional Curanderas. The more I learned about plants, the more I learned about myself and I have since been in a deep study and devotional service with elders throughout Central and South America.
I have learned that by simply implementing a daily practice of connecting with the natural world around me, I have easier access into my subconscious, which then allows me to decondition behaviors that have kept me bound to mental suffering, fear, and that may later express themselves as physical ailments.
It is my mission and souls purpose to guide others back into relationship with the natural world, to inspire remembrance, so we may all know how to heal with the earth, plants, and with ritual acts.
In this way, we can begin to not only heal ourselves, but in turn become better stewards of the Earth. As the better we can understand the world around us, we can can also come to better understand the world within us.
